Junior Achievement

This was my first year participating in Junior Achievement. A girl from work and I would go and talk to a third grade class. During one of the classes the kids found out that Clayton was a firefighter and were thrilled when I said he would come and visit. We brought donuts and Capri suns but no of that mattered when Clayton walked into the classroom wearing his fire gear. They were even more excited when they realized that they could put on his fire gear.

The Kids ran around putting on firefighter pants and jackets getting in line to be the next one to try on the clothes and asking us to take pictures of them in the fire gear. 

One of the things that Clayton showed the kids was how firefighters can pull each other out of harms way. One of the kids was actually able to pull Clayton across the room.

I had a blast working with the kids all year and it was fun seeing them so excited to meet a firefighter and be able to try on fire gear.

Honeymoon time....

Clayton and I went to Disney World for our Honeymoon. Originally we had planned on going to New York City for our honeymoon, but we were watching TV one morning and say a show on Disney World, explaining all the ins and outs of the park and the inner workings and decided that morning to change our plans and head on over to Florida. It was a great time of year to go, the park wasnt crowded and the weather was great.

 

We wanted to stay onsite and decided on the Polynesian Resort.

 

The First day we went to the Animal Kingdom. Both Clayton and I had been to the Animal Kingdom so we hit the big attractions and were back at the hotel in the early evening.

Disney's Hollywood Studios has a Jedi Training Academy where kids learn how to be a Jedi and at the end of their training they all fight Darth Vader. Clayton and I watched the training for a little bit and were wishing we were little again so we could join in on the fun.

We spent most of our evenings at Downtown Disney walking around, listening to music, watching street performers, and shopping, lots of shopping.

Disney had a promotion "What will you celebrate" and each guest that was celebrating something got a special pin to wear in the park. Even though just about everyone was celebrating something it was still nice to see a special message with our dessert one night.

I have been to Disney World in the Summer and at Christmas time. It was really cool to see the park in different decorations. The Magic Kingdom even closed early some nights to host Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

There was this cool place at Magic Kingdom that I had never seen before, there were different firefighter patches in a case on the wall and you could purchase a Magic Kingdom patch to bring home. This place was pretty cool and we will have to visit it again.

There was also this really cool fire station that we kept seeing on the way to Downtown Disney.

The whole park was out the bride and groom mickey ears so I had to settle for halloween Mickey ears.

Clayton and I tried to get a picture at every park, two out of four isnt bad!

We had a blast and hope to be back real soon!

I think I will give it a try...

Well I have decided to enter the blogging world. I don’t update facebook often but would like to have a way to look back on our world from time to time, and I figured this was a good way to keep track of our life together… I wouldn't get to ecstatic because Clayton and I aren’t very exciting.  

We got married on October 16, 2010 in Sugar Land Texas.

 

The Bridal Party all came over to my parents house to hang out and get ready before it was time to go to the church.

Clayton and I had the best time hanging out with friends and family. We were able to spend time with people that we do not get to see often. Up next, life since the wedding, but before that I will leave you with some random pictures from the night.
