He has one goal: to deny yours

This is the second year that Clayton has played goalie with the HFD Soccer team. This year the Firefighter Olympics are going to be held in Round Rock. The soccer portion of the Olympics is a two day 7 on 7 tournament playing on small fields with a full size goal. Last year Houston placed first in Division II and third in Division III.

To get ready for the Olympics the soccer team has had some outdoor games with a Houston based team as well as playing indoor soccer.

During the outdoor games Clayton would play both goalie and on the field. 

The indoor games were usually pretty entertaining. The games were always on Monday nights and the guys that showed up depended on the shifts that weren't working on game day. The team matched pretty well with the division they were in so it was nice to see the boys start to play really well with each other and start to get in sync.

Hopefully the teams will do as good this year as they did last year. I will be cheering the teams on from a distance.

Spring Break 2011

We usually do not have a Spring Break anymore since we are in the Real World but this year we took a couple of days off to go up to Dallas. The main reason we went up to Dallas was to help Clayton's parents with re-doing their back patio.

Here are some progress shots that Mona took all weekend. The whole Harris Family worked together and we were able to finish the project in a couple of days. I am not sure I would do it again but it sure does look nice.

The steps and border were done in a different type of rock. The steps were probably the hardest part of the whole patio. Kevin worked to cut and fit the rock to the steps. The hard work paid off, the steps look great!

After the rocks were laid down and fit tightly together a Poly Sand was poured over the porch and into the cracks. Now the rocks are solid and not moving at all.

Also while we were in Dallas we celebrated Kevin's Birthday. He turned 52 this year but there was not a "2" candle in the house so we improvised. The only problem was that the double "1s" were backwards. Its the thought that counts right?

Toby was so tired after all the festivities. He picked a spot on the couch and wouldn't get up. We all had a good time, but were exhausted when it was all said and done.

Holiday Season 2010

Clayton and I try to split the Holidays up between our families. This year we spent Thanksgiving Day with my family and Christmas with Clayton's family. The Friday after Thanksgiving we surprised the Harris family at the ranch and joined in on the family fun.

Toby was in Heaven on the ranch. There was room to run everywhere he looked. We barely got to throw the frisbee to him; he would just run around with it hanging out of his mouth

My Brother graduated this December from Texas A&M University. We were all there to cheer him on.

Every year around Christmas, we try to go to ICE up in Dallas. This year was the first year we went before Christmas and it was a madhouse. You had to buy tickets for a certain time and then you lined up in the appropriate line and waited to walk through the exhibit. There were so many people that it was hard to be able to take a picture without someone in it.

This year the theme was A Charlie Brown Christmas.

The amount of detail that goes into the exhibit it amazing. When you walk around you forget that what you are seeing is ice.



Charlie Brown has a special place in my life, and it was really cool to be able to see all the characters in ICE. 

It was really hard trying to take a Harris Family picture but we eventually found a corner that was not occupied by people.

The Holiday Season is my favorite time of Year.. Hope you had fun with all your Holiday Adventures.
