Baby Harris Update

We are still in the process of finishing up Tess's room. We have a couple more things to put up and hopefully her bedding will be completed soon. We painted the whole room an off white/beige color. Clayton and I were both happy to paint over the Asian princess mural that was left by the previous owners. This process took a little while since we had to put two coats on and paint the baseboards, trim, and doors. We are pretty happy with the end result.

We are doing a frog theme for her room so we decided to put up a little mural of our own. My mom and sister came over sketched out the design and really did most of the painting. We are waiting till the paint cures before we are putting up the frog decal that I previously bought. We have a couple more decals going up around the room and I will post pictures once we have put them up. Hopefully by the next time I update the room will be finished!

If you don’t concede any goals you’ll win more games than you lose

A couple weeks ago Clayton and some of the HFD Soccer guys played in a small health fair tournament sponsored by Fiesta. There was not a big turnout but the guys had some fun and got some good practice in.

They ended up winning first place in the tournament and even received medals. After the medal ceremony the guys played in a pickup game and then ended the afternoon with a couple of group pictures. It was a beautiful day and there was even a nice breeze blowing.

The Pups

Well Lexi went to the vet this past week because she has been scratching at her eye. We went about a month ago for the same thing just the other eye. The doctor said it was probably allergies so when so started up with her left eye we thought it was allergies again.

We were wrong; she came back from the vet with a cone. She had scratched her eye and has to have two sets of eye drops put in twice a day.

We ran some errands that day and upgraded her cone to a more stable one. She was running into everything and just couldn't get use to the big flimsy one. She still hasn't really warmed up to the idea of the cone but she is starting to get used to it.

She looks pretty pitiful when you are around and she wants attention. But you better believe that when Toby wants to play or she sees a toy that looks interesting she is off the couch and running around like normal.

As you can see none of this has affected Toby, he is his usual lazy self.

24 Weeks

I am not one to post weekly blogs about the progress of my pregnancy but I figured I would post some pictures of the progress of the bump. I have not been that good at taking pictures, probably because I don't want to see how big I am actually getting.

At our 20 week appointment we were able to get another glance at our little girl. She is right on track and developing great. Clayton and I are getting excited and will be starting on getting her nursery all setup soon.

And Baby Makes 3....

Clayton and I are expecting our first little one come the end of June. We found out I was pregnant on Halloween. Halloween has been a special day in the Braun family; it was my grandfather's birthday. I smiled a little bit more that we found out about our little one on such a special day. Here is a picture from when I was 9 weeks along. We used this picture to tell our family on Thanksgiving. We made little pictures that said Baby Harris and the due date with this ultrasound picture in the middle. Everyone was very excited; this will be the first grandbaby on each side and the first great grandbaby on Clayton's side.

At 12 weeks we went and did the 12 week screening at a high risk doctor in the same building as our normal doctor. Everything came back normal and that doctor had a 3-D ultrasound machine.

We were able to catch a glimpse at what our little one is going to look like. Kinda cool!

We just had our 17 week appointment. We were pretty excited because our doctor said that we should be able to see the sex by then. It took a while to get back but we were able to see what we are having. Looks like we will be graced with a little girl!

After the doctor told us she said not to paint or buy any clothes. She said it is still pretty early and when they are wrong it's when they guess a girl early and it turns out to be a boy. Clayton and I are pretty positive that it's not going to change but he is making me stick to the no buying things till we get our 20 week ultrasound. Our doctor said the sex will be confirmed then.

We are pretty excited and can't wait to start working on putting a nursery together.

Monster Jam

This weekend Clayton and I went to Monster Jam. I was listening to the morning show in 94.5 the Buzz and heard that they were selling discounted tickets. I quickly bought some tickets and surprised Clayton. We have talked about it in the past but both of us had never been. We met up with some friends to eat before and then headed to the show.

The pictures are not the greatest quality. I tried to charge the camera earlier in the day and either the battery or the charger died. So I tried to take some good pictures with my phone. The show was awesome and we really enjoyed it. We would probably go back if we had the opportunity.

ICE 2011

Over the Holidays Clayton and I went to ICE at the Gaylord Texan with his family. This has become a tradition and we have gone the last couple of years. This year the theme was Shrek the Halls. All the movies were incorporated which was pretty cool. It still amazes me that everything you see is made out of ice.

Before you can go into the tent with all the ice you go through a couple of rooms. These rooms are always decorated, this year there was a nice dream works center piece in one of the rooms.

Here are a couple pictures from the ICE experience.

Clayton and I haven't seen all the movies so we didn't know everything that had happened. It was nice being able to experience things from the new movies first hand and in Ice.

Every year there is a nativity scene at the end. Even though it doesn't change from year to year it is always my favorite part.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
